Red House Beach Area, Allegany State Park, NY
Beehunter Trail – Allegany State Park
This 6 mile hike is on the official park trail called Beehunter. It starts with a steady climb up the ridge between Stoddard Creek and Beehunter Creek.
After following the ridge for a bit it descends down to a crossing of Beehunter Creek. The last time I was there (2 years ago) we had to rock hop across the creek but it was easy enough to cross. The trail then makes a much shorter climb up the ridge between Beehunter Creek and Red House Brook. You will emerge from the trail in the Beehunter Cabin area, from which you follow the dirt road back to the parking area.
Meet at the parking lot across the road from the Red House Beach Bath House.
